GORDON, Isabel ³

Isabel married William RATTRAY, son of William RATTRAY and Esther CHARNLEY, about 27 Jun 1535.¹ (William RATTRAY was born 4 December 1877 at 1.30 pm in 526 Rutherglen Road, Glasgow, Scotland and died 3 October 1943 at 9.30 am in 35 Netherhill Crescent, Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland ⁴.). The cause of his death was carcinoma of the rectum.

  Marriage Notes:

"He (John, Master of Forbes) married Elizabeth, daughter of John Lyon, sixth Lord Glamis, about 27 June 1535, when she had a charter of Fintray and other lands from John, Lord Forbes." (page 54)

"p. 54, 1. 8 from foot, after '1565,' insert ' It is also stated (History of the Family of Burnett of Leys, New Spalding Club, p. 29 ; Macfarlane's Gen. Coll., ii. 244) that she (Elizabeth Lyon) was ultimately married to Alexander or Arthur Forbes of Echt, who survived her.' "
