The 1881 census for Govan parish recorded William Tweedley, aged 13 years, living with his family at 83 Govanhill Street. His birthplace was noted as Glasgow.

William's father made an application for parochial relief in June 1901 and gave this information about his son:
"William, aged 50 years, born Dobbies Loan (Glasgow), a plumber, residence unknown"
In November 1911 a reapplication noted this:
William 45, born Richard Street, married with 7 children to Margaret Thomson, resides about Dalmuir 3 4


William married Margaret THOMSON. (Margaret THOMSON was born about 1870.)


William next married Unity QUIGLEY, daughter of John QUIGLEY and Bridget O'DONNELL.1 (Unity QUIGLEY was born on 6 Jul 1864 in Anderston, Glasgow, Scotland 2 and died 1901 or later.)
