Edward Quiglay was there aged 40 years, a labourer, born Ireland. A child, John Kinloch, was a 'scholar' in the 1861 census, born in Busby, living with his grandfather, Edward Quigley (husband of Jane Stewart), in Cambusnethan. He was aged 8 years. Research Notes: In the 1861 census for Cambusnethan an Edward Quiglay married to Jane appears with a son Edward, aged 14 years, and a younger son John, aged 10 years. Edward married Jane STEWART. (Jane STEWART was born about 1815 in Ireland or Islay, Argyllshire, Scotland 6.) Edward next married Patrick VALLELY.1 (Patrick VALLELY was born about 1814 in Ireland 7 and died before 30 Sep 1879 7.) Marriage Notes: "Mr. David Carnegie married, thirdly (contract 26 April 1594 at Kinnaird) Janet Henrison, widow of Alexander Guthrie, Common Clerk of Edinburgh, but by her, who survived him, had no issue." |
