A couple named Edward and Jane Quiglay were recorded in the 1861 census in Cambusnethan at 5 Burnhall Row. Jane was aged 40 years and Edward aged 40 years, both born in Ireland.

In 1881 'Jane Twigley' was a widow of 72 years, as recorded in the census return of that year. She was living in Burnhall Rows in the parish of Cambusnethan. With her, then, lived her son Edward, his wife Catherine, and their children Jane and Edward. John, also her son, and his wife Margaret Twigley and their six children lived right next to them. Jane was recorded as having been born in Islay, Argyll.

In the death certificate of her son John in 1923, Jane's name was recorded as "Jane Tweedley (formerly Bright) MS Stewart deceased". ^{3 5}

Jane married Dennis QUIGLEY, son of Dennis QUIGLEY and Sarah McGINNIS, on 18 Jun 1671 in Saint Nicholas Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland.^{1 2} (Dennis QUIGLEY was born on 14 Apr 1864 in Middle/New Parish, Greenock, Renfrewshire, Scotland ⁶.)
