McNAIRN, John ¹

  General Notes:

John was recorded as aged 8 years by the 1851 census for Old Monkland parish.

In the 1855 birth certificate of his daughter Susan, Robert McNearn, Susan's father, stated that he and his wife had married in Airdrie in 1844. They had six children, two boys and two girls living, and two girls deceased, as well as one boy before marriage and one girl before marriage. ¹

John married Robert McANERNY, son of Robert McINAIRNEY and Margaret MARTIN.² (Robert McANERNY was christened on 4 Dec 1843 in St Margaret's RC Chapel, Airdrie, Lanarkshire, Scotland ³.)

  Marriage Notes:

"George Gordon of 'Fewllmont' (who died in Tillyminat in 1481) married [Beroald] Innes of Meillers daughter [Isobel] with whom he begatt four sons'' (Balbithan MS., p. 42)"
