The death certificate of James Lyons in 1896 recorded him as a journeyman stone mason aged 38 years, widower of Janet Bunton (or Buxton? Burton?), and married to Catherine Andrews. His usual residence was 8 St Andrew's Street Kilmarnock. ⁴

  Medical Notes:

William Frew MD certified the cause of death.

The deceased man's brother, Edward Lyons, of 12 Richardland Road, gave notice of the death before the registrar at Kilmarnock on 17 March 1896. ⁴
