  General Notes:

The 1861 census for Lanarkshire recorded Patrick Hart and his son Henry living as boarders in the household of Domenick Cromar and his wife Isabella both in their twenties. Another boarder Daniel McCormick aged 40 years also lived there. All of the adult males were coal miners. They lived in Morningside village in the parish of Cambusnethan. Patrick Hart was a widower of 33 years of age. His birthplace was Ireland. Henry was a scholar aged 7 years who had been born in Bothwell parish.

In the birth certificate of his daughter Ellen in 1879 Henry Hart was recorded as a coalminer.

The 1881 census taken in the district of Holytown in the parish of Bothwell recorded Henry Hart as head of a small household living at 5 Carfin Road. It consisted of himself, his wife and his 2 year old son Patrick. Henry was recorded as 26 years of age and had been born in Bothwell parish Lanarkshire. He worked as a coal miner. [His daughter Helen Hart was a visitor at the home of her uncle and aunt, John and Catherine Vallely at 29 Church Street Hamilton, according to their entry in the 1881 census.]

When Edward Quin died in 1886 at 10 Douglas Park Row in Bellshill, a neighbour occupier who had been present, Henry Hart, gave notice of Edward's death before the registrar, J. Whitehouse, at Bothwell on 16 December 1886 and made his X mark. 1 2 3


Henry married Catherine MORGAN on 11 June 1878 in Bothwell Parish, Lanarkshire, Scotland.1 (Catherine MORGAN was born about 1855.)
