A search has been made for Helen Vallely after the birth of her son, Henry. It seems very likely that she died after he was born and before the introduction of statutory registration in 1855.

Helen married Patrick HART, son of Henry HART and Catherine McCAFFERTY, on 24 January 1853 in St Mary's RC Chapel, Hamilton, Lanarkshire, Scotland.^{1 2} (Patrick HART was born in 1827 in Ireland ³ and died in 1883 in Holytown, Bothwell Parish, Lanarkshire, Scotland ⁴.)

The proclamation of banns for this marriage are recorded in the IGI as having taken place on 2 January 1853 in Bothwell parish, Lanarkshire, Scotland.

In the marriage records of St Mary's RC Chapel Hamilton the marriage was recorded in the hand of Father Michael Condon:
