The 1861 census for Lanarkshire recorded Patrick Hart and his son Henry living as boarders in the household of Domenick Cromar and his wife Isabella both in their twenties. Another boarder Daniel McCormick aged 40 years also lived there. All of the adult males were coal miners. They lived in Morningside village in the parish of Cambusnethan. Patrick Hart was a widower of 33 years of age. His birthplace was Ireland. Henry was a scholar aged 7 years who had been born in Bothwell parish. 3


Patrick married Helen VALLELY on 24 January 1853 in St Mary's RC Chapel, Hamilton, Lanarkshire, Scotland.1 2 (Helen VALLELY was born about 1830.)

The proclamation of banns for this marriage are recorded in the IGI as having taken place on 2 January 1853 in Bothwell parish, Lanarkshire, Scotland.

In the marriage records of St Mary's RC Chapel Hamilton the marriage was recorded in the hand of Father Michael Condon:
