QUIGLEY, Patrick

   Cause of his death was chronic bronchitis, emphysema and syncope.

   Another name for Patrick was QUIGLAY, Patrick.¹

  General Notes:

In 1855 Patrick notified the registrar at Cambusnethan of the death of his baby son Thomas. He gave his occupation then as that of coal miner.

Patrick was recorded living at Cambusnethan with his parents and family by the 1861 census. He was aged 26 years and was a coal miner.

In the 1881 census for Cambusnethan parish two unmarried brothers were recorded living at 33 Orchard Row. They were Patrick Quigley, aged 45 years, a coal miner, born in Ireland; and John, noted as head, aged 37 years, also born in Ireland and working as a coal miner. They seem to fit the two brothers in this family. In the same enumerating book, about twenty pages earlier, a Thomas Quigley aged 15 years appears as stepson of the widowed James McCann. This is possibly the son of Jane of this family.

In his death certificate of 1913 Patrick was recorded as a single man who had worked as a coal miner, and his age was recorded as 73 years. Both of his parents were dead. ^{1 2}

Patrick's niece, Mary McGuigan, gave notice of his death before the registrar at Wishaw,Thomas Steele, on 17 February 1913. Her address was recorded as 14 Double Furnace Row, Berryhill, Wishaw.

Patrick married Jane McFARLANE. (Jane McFARLANE was born about 1835.)
