  General Notes:

Annie Quigley was recorded by the 1881 census living at number 6 Braid Street, Glasgow. With her lived her husband and two children, and her mother and sister. Annie was recorded as 34 years old and born in Ireland.

In 1891 the census recorded Annie Quigley living at 33 Kelvin Street, Glasgow with her husband and two daughters aged 13 years and 7 years. Annie was 44 years of age and born in Ireland.

The census of 1901 recorded Annie Quigley as head of the household living at 67 Elliott Street, Glasgow. With her lived her two daughters. Annie was recorded as a married woman aged 54 years who had been born in Londonderry, Ireland. She worked as a shirtcutter. Only one of the rooms of their flat was a windowed room.

Annie Quigley, widow of Patrick Quigley, gave notice of his death before the registrar at the district of Kelvin, Glasgow, on 21 June 1904.

When Annie died in 1917 her recorded age at death was 76 years. She was recorded as the widow of Patrick Quigley, sewing machine mechanic. 2 3

J. S. Montgomery, physician and surgeon, certified the cause of death.

Sarah McManus, Annie Quigley's daughter, gave notice of her mother's death before the registrar at Anderston in the burgh of Glasgow on 29 October 1917. 3


Annie married Patrick QUIGLEY, son of John QUIGLEY and Margaret McGARVEY, on 9 June 1873 in St Mungo's RC Chapel, Glasgow, Scotland.1 (Patrick QUIGLEY was born in Ireland 2 3, baptised on 16 June 1843 in Long Tower RC Parish, County Derry, Ireland 5 and died 20 June 1904 at 7.50 pm in Western Infirmary, Glasgow, Scotland 3.). The cause of his death was pernicious anaemia.3


  Marriage Notes:

The marriage was solemnised according to the rites and forms of the Roman Catholic Church. The priest was Father Anthony Carroll. The witnesses were Bernard McLaughlin and Hannah McCairnie.

Patrick Quigley was a sewing machine maker (journeyman) aged 29 years. He was unmarried and lived at 255 Stirling Road Glasgow. His father was deceased.

Annie Nelis was a shirt cutter aged 27 years, living at 6 Stanhope Street, Glasgow. She was unmarried. Her father was deceased.

The marriage was registered at Glasgow on 12 June 1873, Gavin Buchanan being the signing registrar.
