  General Notes:

The 1871 census for Glasgow recorded Margaret Quigley living with her widowed mother and brother and sisters at 12 Wright Street in Springburn. She was 18 years old and had been born in Ireland. She worked as a stampmaker and was single.

In her death certificate of 1878 Margaret Skeoch was recorded as married to John Skeoch, a journeyman blacksmith. Her recorded age at death was 25 years. 1

  Medical Notes:

J. K. Kelly, surgeon, certified the causes of death.

John Skeoch, widower, who had been present where the death occurred, gave notice of Margaet's death at Hutchesontown, Glasgow on 13 May 1878. 1


Margaret married John SKEOCH on 3 January 1876 in 105 Hill Street, Glasgow, Scotland.1 (John SKEOCH was born about 1853 in Kilbirnie, Ayrshire, Scotland 1 and died on 30 December 1926 1.)


  Marriage Notes:

The marriage took place after banns according to the forms of the United Presbyterian Church. Walter McKenzie of Frederick Street United Presbyterian Church married the couple. The witnesses were William Beadwell and Ellen Quigley.

John Skeoch was a 23 year old journeyman blacksmith. He was unmarried and gave his address as 41 Cranston Street, Glasgow.

Margaret Quigley was 21 years old and worked as a shirt cutter. Her address was 46 Elderslie Street and she too was single. Her father was deceased.

The marriage was registered on 7 January 1876 in the district of Kelvin of the Burgh of Glasgow. 1
