The 1841 census recorded Agness Quigley living in Back Street Kilmarnock with her mother, stepfather, and her four full siblings and two half siblings. Her age was recorded as 9 years and she had been born in Ayrshire.

The 1851 census for Kilmarnock parish recorded an Agnes Quigly who was a visitor at the home of Daniel Michan, aged 55 years, a labourer born in Ireland, and his son and daughter, Daniel, 18 years, also a labourer, and Catherine, 16 years, the housekeeper, who were both born in Kilmarnock parish. Their dwelling was at Braeside Society?(unclear) Land. Agnes was aged 19 years and was a mill worker. She was born in Kilmarnock parish. 8
