   Other names for William were FEEHILY, William,³ FEELY, William,^{3 4 5} FEIGHLY, William ² and FIHELY, William.⁵

  General Notes:

The 1861 census for Avondale parish, Lanarkshire recorded a 'William Feeley' boarding along with three others with the Cafrey family in Churchyard Street, Strathaven. William was aged 50 years and had been born in Ireland. He worked as an agricultural labourer.

The marriage certificate of William Feely in February 1863, citing his marriage to Ellen McGovern at Strathaven, recorded his father as also holding that name. William Feely senior was recorded as being an agricultural labourer.

William was an agricultural labourer according to the 1866 marriage certificate of his son Patrick.

When Patrick died later in 1866, William was recorded in his death certificate as an agricultural labourer.

William Feighly, agricultural labourer and widower of Mary Brannan died in 1876 at the recorded age of 64 years. His parents were already deceased. ^{2 4}

  Medical Notes:

Thomas Kelly, William's son in law of Townhead Strathaven, gave notice of William's death before the registrar at Strathaven on 2 June 1876.

William married Mary BRENNAN on 11 February 1833 in Croghan RC Parish, County Roscommon, Ireland.¹ (Mary BRENNAN was born about 1810 and died after 30 April 1866 and before 2 June 1876.)
