In the 1851 census for New Monkland, Patrick was recorded residing at 6 Davidson's Place, Airdrie. Residing with him were two brothers, William and Francis, and two lodgers called Hugh Grant, aged 34 years, born Airdrie, and Mary Grant, aged 24 years, born Kilbride, both Hand Loom Weavers. Patrick was aged 19 years and the 'head' of the household. He worked as a collier.
Patrick's death certificate of 1866 recorded him as an ironstone miner, married to Bridget Early. His age at death was recorded as 26 years.The death certificate also shows both of his parents as being alive. 1 3 4

William Feely, brother of the deceased, who had been present where the death occurred, gave notice of the death before the registrar, John Barrie, at Strathaven on 1 May 1866, and made his X mark. 3
Patrick married Bridget EARLY, daughter of Jady EARLY and Mary DUFFY, on 29 January 1866 in Roman Catholic Manse, Strathaven, Lanarkshire, Scotland. (Bridget EARLY was born about 1846 2.)
Marriage Notes:
The marriage was solemnised after banns according to the rites and forms of the Roman Catholic Church. Edmund Sheedy, RC Clergyman, presided. The witnesses were Thomas Feehily, who made his X mark, and Sarah M. Doherty.
Patrick Feely, who made his X mark, was a bachelor of 24 years of age. He was an ironstone miner and resided at Church yard at Strathaven.
Bridget Early, who also made her X mark, was a domestic servant. She was unmarried and aged 20 years, and lived at the same address as Patrick. Her mother was deceased.
The marriage was registered on 31 January 1866 at Strathaven, John Barrie being the signing registrar. 2
