Ellen Feeley was recorded by the 1871 census living at the Toll House Hamilton with her family. She was recorded as 36 years old and born in Strathaven.

Helen married William FEELY, son of William FEEHELY and Mary BRENNAN, on 16 February 1863 in Kirkyard St, Strathaven, Lanarkshire, Scotland.^{1 2} (William FEELY was born in Ireland and was baptised on 18 December 1835 in Boyle RC Parish, County Roscommon, Ireland ⁵.)

  Marriage Notes:

The marriage was celebrated according to the rites and forms of the Roman Catholic Church by Edmund Sheedy, RC Clergyman. The witnesses werer Hugh Doyle and Agnes Stapleton.

William Feely, who made his X mark, was a bachelor of 24 years, and lived in Kirkyard Street, Strathaven. He was an ironstone miner.

Ellen McGovern also made her X mark. She was a domestic servant aged 24 years and lived in Kirkyard Street too. Her mother was deceased.

The marriage was registered at Strathaven on 17 February 1863, Andrew Cameron being the signing registrar. ²
