QUIGLEY, John ³

   Cause of his death was apoplexy and arterio sclerosis.⁵

John was the informant of his son Arthur's birth in 1896.

Later that year he was also informant of his own father's death. He gave notice at Glasgow on 9 November 1896 before Dan. Hamilton, registrar. He gave his address as Cambus Villa, Lambhill.

John Quigley died in 1933 at the recorded age of 76 years. His death certificate recorded him as 'John Quigley pawnbroker married to 1]Margaret Kelly 2] Margaret Mary Lynch'. Both of his parents were deceased. ⁵

The informant was Margaret Mary Quigley, widow of the deceased who had been present where the death occurred. She gave notice of her husband's death before the registrar, J. Macleod, at Glasgow on 24 January 1933. ⁵

John married Margaret KELLY on 24 June 1879 in St Vincent's RC Chapel, Duke Street, Glasgow, Scotland.^{1 2} (Margaret KELLY was born on 27 June 1856 in Clyde, Glasgow, Scotland ⁴.)

  Marriage Notes:

John Quigley, a bachelor aged 22 years, of 34 St Andrew's Street, Glasgow, was a master pawn broker.

Margaret Kelly, also unmarried and aged 22 years, of 26 George Street, Glasgow, was a butter and egg merchant's saleswoman. Both of her parents were dead.

The priest who celebrated the marriage was Julius Everty RCC. The witnesses were John McGeadie and Lena Kelly. The marriage was registered at Glasgow on 24 June 1879, J. Thomson being the signing registrar. ²

John next married Margaret Mary LYNCH. (Margaret Mary LYNCH was born about 1860 and died after 22 January 1933.)
