  General Notes:

Edward was baptised by Father William Caven at Paisley and his godparents were Edward Gallan and Mary McIver.

Edward's daughter Rosanna was born in 1855 and Edward was the informant. In the birth certificate his age then was recorded as 34 years, and it stated that he was born in Paisley. His occupation was noted as tailor. His marriage took place in Glasgow in 1853.

Edward was aged 41 years as recorded in his mother's Parish Relief Application of 1863.

In 1879, when his son John married, Edward was recorded as a retired pawnbroker.

Edward died in 1896. In his death certificate he was recorded as having been a pawnbroker. He was the widower of three women:

2 Hannah Hampsey
3 Catherine Mulligan.
Both of his parents, Edward and Rose Ann Quigley were deceased. His age was recorded as 75 years.

Edward's son John died in 1933 in Glasgow. In his death certificate Edward was recorded as a pawnbroker. 6 7 8 9

Patrick A. Smith MD certified the cause of death.

John Quigley, son of the deceased man, of Cambus Villa Lambhill, notified the registrar at Glasgow, Dan Hamilton, on 9 November 1896 of his father's death.


Edward married Marjory DOCHERTY on 2 February 1841 in St Andrew's RC Chapel, Great Clyde Street, Glasgow, Scotland.1 (Marjory DOCHERTY was born about 1820 and died before 2 June 1852.)
