MURPHY, Susan
Other names for Susan were McANAIRNEY, Susan, McINAIRNEY, Susan, McNAIRN, Susan 1 and McNEARN, Susan. General Notes: The 1851 census for Old Monkland recorded Susan McNairn as 30 years of age. She lived there with her husband and six children aged from 1 year to 11 years. Research Notes: Susan may be related to Mary Murphy wife of Patrick McConville. Susan married Robert McINAIRNEY, son of James McINAIRN and Margaret TORRANCE, on 4 August 1844 in Old Monkland Or Airdrie, Lanarkshire, Scotland. (Robert McINAIRNEY was born about 1820 in County Donegal, Ireland 1 and died 11 January 1869 at 9.10 pm in Greenend of Calder, Old Monkland, Lanarkshire, Scotland.). The cause of his death was chronic bronchitis of some years' duration, and disease of the heart and dropsy for some months. Marriage Notes: The IGI records this marriage of 1844 as having been in Old Monkland. The birth certificate [RDS 652/3 No 139 Old Monkland 1855] of their daughter Susan recorded the place of marriage as Airdrie. Possibly the marriage took place in St Margaret's Airdrie, and the banns were called in Old Monkland. |
