1841 Census:
Isabella McKinny was recorded as aged 50 to 54 years in the 1841 census for Barrhead village, Neilston, Renfrewshire. Living with her were five young people called McKinny, most of them probably her children, thought this census does not state this: James, Thomas, Isabella and Cathrine, all in their teens or twenties. In addition a two year old called Richard McKinny lived in the household. All the adults had been born in Ireland. Richard was born in Renfrewshire. The two young men were coal miners, Isabella, the youngest, was a cotton spinner, and Cathrine was a bleacher. ¹

Isabella married William McKENNA. (William McKENNA was born about 1780 in probably Ireland and died probably before 1841.)
