1851 Census:
James McKinney, his wife Rosann and their two children James and Mary were lodgers at 20 Wardlawhill Street Rutherglen, the head of the household being a woman called Hannah Clark. James was recorded as being 33 years old, Irish born, and as working as a coal miner. His wife Rosann was also born in Ireland and was 30 years of age. The two children had both been born in Barrhead, Mary was recorded as 10 years of age and James as 4 years.


James married Mary HUTTON on 12 February 1838 in Neilston parish, Renfrewshire, Glasgow.1 (Mary HUTTON was born about 1815.)


James next married Rosan McCLARIGIN on 13 January 1843 in Neilston parish, Renfrewshire, Glasgow.2 (Rosan McCLARIGIN was born about 1820-1821 in Ireland.)
