General Notes: In the Church Baptism record transcribed and made available by the Irish Family History Foundation, William Donaldson, son of James Donaldson and M. A. Carson was recorded as baptised on 8 May 1855 by Reverend J. Crickard. The baptism was a Roman Catholic one in the parish or district of Ballygalget in County Down, Ireland. There were two baptismal sponsors. The first was W. Donaldson and the second was Elizabeth Mageean. Research Notes: BALLYGALGET William married Elizabeth DOUDS, daughter of Mathew DOUDS and Bridget McMANUS, on 21 February 1873 in Irvine parish, Ayrshire, Scotland. (Elizabeth DOUDS was born on 20 November 1855 in Irvine parish, Ayrshire, Scotland 2 and died in 1939 in Springburn, Glasgow, Scotland 3.) Marriage Notes: The marriage was celebrated after banns according to the rites and forms of the Roman Catholic Church. The priest was Thomas Keane, Catholic Clergyman. The witnesses were Alexander McCann and Mary McDonald. |
