Mary Ann Donaldson was the informant of the birth of her son James before the registrar at Kilwinning on 10 January 1863. She made her X mark.

Mary Ann Donaldson was the informant of the birth of her daughter Agnes before the registrar at Irvine on 12 October 1867. She made her X mark.

Mary Ann Donaldson, mother of the child, was the informant of the birth of her daughter, also Mary Ann, before the registrar at Irvine on 22 August 1870. She made her X mark.

Mary Ann Donaldson's death certificate of 1874 recorded her as married to James Donaldson coal miner. Her recorded age at death was 43 years. She died at Annick Lodge colliery, where presumably her husband was working. Both of her parents were deceased. ^{1 4 7 8}

James Donaldson, widower, who was present where his wife's death occurred, gave notice of the death before the registrar at Irvine on 6 November 1874. ⁴

Mary married James DONALDSON, son of William DONALDSON and Ann McGRAW, on 30 December 1851 in Ardkeen parish, County Down, Ireland.¹ (James DONALDSON was born about 1835 in Ireland ³ and died 14 April 1888 at 8.25 pm in Baillieston, Lanarkshire, Scotland ⁹.). The cause of his death was heart disease over 6 months and congestion of the lungs over 5 days.⁴
