Cause of her death was chronic gastro enteritis over some months.3 Other names for Mary were BROUN, Mary,1 DALTON, Mary,2 McGONIGAL, Mary,2 McGONNIGAL, Mary 5 and McGUNAGILL, Mary.6 General Notes: The 1851 census for Largs recorded Mary McGonnigal as the wife of Duncan, and the mother of the five children named. She had been born in Ireland and was recorded as 46 years of age. The family lived at Allan's Land, Gateside Street. Medical Notes: William Caskie MA MB certified the cause of death. Mary married Duncan McGONNIGAL. (Duncan McGONNIGAL was born in 1800 in Ireland 5 and died between 1860 and 1851 5.) Mary next married Peter DALTON on 6 May 1854 in Largs, Ayrshire, Scotland.1 (Peter DALTON was born in 1805 in Ireland 4 and died after 26 July 1877.) Marriage Notes: The OPR for the marriage of Peter Dalton and Mary Brown in 1854 referred to them as 'both in this parish'. 7 |
