"September 4th 1719 The said day the Laird of Grant and D: Anne Colquhoune Lady Luss had a Child Baptized at Rossdoe called Penuell Before several witnesses"

Note: Rossdoe was the residence of the barons of Luss.

"On 5th September 1745, while Sir John Cope was lying at Inverness, Mr. (Ludovick) Grant received a letter from his sister Penuel, wife of Captain Grant of Ballindalloch, stating that the people of Morange (Morinch) were threatened with plunder if they did not join the rebels.2 Gordon of Glenbucket was then in the neighbourhood doing his utmost to raise recruits and compel men to join Prince Charles Edward, but had no great success."

Penuell married Captain Alexander GRANT of Ballindalloch, son of Colonel William GRANT of Rothiemurchus, then 1st (of second Grants) of Ballindalloch and Anne GRANT.1 (Captain Alexander GRANT of Ballindalloch was born about 1714 and died on 14 January 1751 4.)
