"John Grant of Dalvey. Brother-german of John Grant of Ballndalloch, mentioned as 'in Dalvey' in 1537. He received a charter of feu-farm of these lands from Patrick, Bishop of Moray, on 15th April 1540, and is afterwards frequently mentioned as a witness to Grant charters under the designation 'of Dalvey'. He married Janet Bard or Baird who survived him. He died in April 1576 and was succeeded by his eldest son."
