DATE OF DEATH

Elsewhere the date of Ludovick's death is noted as 2 March 1786. This may have referred to the purchase of the estate with which it was connected, and has been misconstrued as actual date of death.

Ludovick married Anna GUYON 'of Hampstead' on 27 July 1771 in Hampstead, London, England. (Anna GUYON 'of Hampstead' was born about 1740 and died on 8 May 1804.)

  Marriage Notes:

"Captain Ludovick Grant, so designed as a witness to a document on 30th October 1767 and also in 1780 by Captain John Macpherson (of Invereshie) who calls him 'cousin'. On 20th December 1769 he was retoured heir-male general to his father, and on 17th January 1774 heir special to his grandfather Ludovick in Knockando and Broadland. On 21st September 1772 he obtained from James Grant of Grant a disposition of the lands of Ardfour, and in 1774 was one of the Commissioners of Supply for Elgin and Forres. He married, on 27th July 1771, at Hampstead, Anna, daughter of Stephen Guyon of Hampstead, who survived him. He died at Elgin on 5th February 1784. After his death on 2d March 1786 the estate of Knockando was purchased by Robert Grant, ancestor of the present family of Wester Elchies."
