DID ANNA FORBES MARRY GEORGE GORDON OF GIGHT?

Bulloch thinks probably not, on the grounds that 'Lady Gight' is a misreading of 'Lady Eight' (Echt). He says:

"According to Row, whose Journal was printed in Scottish Notes and Queries, Jan., 1894, Dame Anna Forbes, 'Lady Gight,' daughter to the Lord Forbes, died Sept. 14, 1667, aged 67. According to Macfarlane's Genealogical Collections (ii., 244), 'Arthur Forbes of Eight married Anna Forbes, daughter to my Lord Forbes . . . and the said Arthur to his second Lady married Barbara Forbes, daughter to the Laird of Asloun . . .'. Hence in Row Gight is probably a slip for Eight."

Anna married Arthur FORBES 10th of Echt, son of Robert FORBES of Finnersie, later 9th of Echt and Daughter BURNET, in 1635.¹ (Arthur FORBES 10th of Echt was born about 1615 and died in 1680 ¹.)
