Margaret married James ARBUTHNOTT of Arrat, son of Andrew ARBUTHNOTT 15th of that Ilk and Elizabeth CARNEGIE, 24 November 1590(contract).1 (James ARBUTHNOTT of Arrat was born about 1556 and died by 29 July 1599 2.) Marriage Notes: "James, portioner of Arrat. He is first mentioned in 1563 in his mother's testament of which he was one of the executors, and is one of the heirs called to the succession in the Arbuthnott entail of 5 March 1587-88. He married Margaret Livingstone, daughter of John Livingstone of Dunipace (marriage-contract dated 24 November 1590), who survived him ..." Margaret next married David CARNEGIE of Balmachie, son of James CARNEGIE of Balmachie and Christian BRUCE, by 29 July 1599.2 (David CARNEGIE of Balmachie was born about 1570 and died by 10 March 1607 5.) Marriage Notes: "David Carnegie succeeded his father in Balmachie. He married Margaret Livingstone, and with her had, on 29 July 1599, a charter of novodamus of the lands of Balveny and Balglassie, in Forfarshire, on David's resignation." Margaret next married Patrick BLAIR of Lichtonhill by 30 April 1609.3 (Patrick BLAIR of Lichtonhill was born about 1570 and died in December 1622 5.) Marriage Notes: "Letter of Assedation by Mr Robert Kinnear, vicar of Brechin, to Margaret Livingston, relict of James Arbuthnot of Arrat, by which, for a certain sum of money paid to him by the said Margaret Livingston and Patrick Blair, now her husband ..." |
