"1580-1, January 11. - 'Mr. William Gordon of Dalpersie,' along with John Gordon of Blelack, James Gordon of Craigmylne and his son James, George Gordon of Kandmoir, Thomas Gordon of Dawcene and Robert Gordon of Hallhead were 'dilaitit' for taking James Mortimer, apparent of Craigievar, and 'detening of him within the wod of Kilblane be the space of ten dayes or thairby' (Pitcairn's Criminal Trials, i., 94). On January 21 he had to find caution in the case (Privy Council Register)."

  Marriage Notes:

"Robert Gordon was served heir to his grandfather (in 1563), John Gordon, in the lands of Hallhead and Conquhonderland, in the barony of Cushnie. He married Janet, daughter of James Innes of Touchis (Toux. now Pitfour), by whom he had a son, Patrick. This Robert Gordon had sasine, June 16, 1554, and February 10, 1557. and witnessed a charter of Robert Innes of Innermarkie, on 12 January, 1579. He was succeeded by his son, Patrick Gordon of Hallhead."
