Duncan Forbes of Drumalachie falling to be air to his brother, John with the sleick hair, called the white Laird of Brux, since the said John had no airs male, but daughters, as said is : the sd. Duncan of Drumalachie married Bessie Crichtone, daughter to the Laird off Conland who did bear to him three sons and ane daughter : the name of the eldest son was called William Forbes of Litle Kildrimie, who was predecessor of the house of Towie; the name of the second was John Forbes, called the glyed Laird of Brux, of whom is descended the house of Brux ; the name of the third, Mr. John Forbes, parsone of Forbes; the name of the daughter was Agnes Forbes, married on the Laird of Auchinhove Dugat ...."
