User ID: G617. General Notes: "John Stewart of Drumin was out in the '15, and was one of those who surrendered at Banff in 1716. He married Elizabeth Forbes, daughter of George Forbes of Skellater, and had, it is said, three sons - Charles Stewart, who died at Drumin, January 4, 1790, in his eightieth year (Aberdeen Journal): Gordon Stewart, who carried on the line; and James who, departing from the tradition of the House, became a colonel in the Hanoverian army. |
