In 1588 Inverallochy became the property of Alexander Fraser, 8th of Philorth, nephew of Margaret, Alexander Cumyn's wife; then in 1615-1616 Inverallochy changed hands again, becoming the possession of Simon Fraser, Lord Lovat. (Scots Peerage vol 7) 1


Alexander married Margaret FRASER, daughter of Alexander FRASER 7th of Philorth and Catharine BARCLAY, before 1539.1 2 (Margaret FRASER was born about 1530 and died in August 1602 1 3.)

"The Laird of Philorth had obtained the maritagium of Alexander Cumming of Inverallochy, which he assigned as a portion to his daughter Margaret; and accordingly, before 1539, the young lady had become the wife of the young gentleman whose hand was in her own gift, and they had a son, William Cumming, who succeeded his father in Inverallochy before 1568."
