Margaret married William KING of Newmill, Provost of Elgin, son of John KING tenant in Plewlands, Factor to the Earl of Sutherland and Barbara ELLIS, on 29 April 1682.1 2 (William KING of Newmill, Provost of Elgin was born on 28 February 1637 2 and died on 27 September 1715 in Greyfriars, Elgin, Scotland 3.)

"On 29th April, 1682, he (William King) married Margaret Cuming, daughter of George Cuming of Lochtervandich, Provost of Elgin, by his wife, Marjory Leslie, of the family of Kininvie, by whom he had ten children, of whom five died young. William, who succeeded him, was born 1692. Margaret married William Gordon, merchant in Elgin, and was mother of Admiral William Gordon, and other children. Barbara married James Anderson of Linkwood, Provost of Elgin (1706), and had a family. Agnes married James Craig, writer in Elgin, son of the Rev. Thomas Craig, minister of St. Andrew's. Jean married Alexander Falconar, merchant in Elgin, son of the Rev. William Falconar, minister of Dyke, in 1705, and was mother of William Falconar, Bishop of Moray, afterwards Bishop of Edinburgh, Primus of the Scotch Episcopal Church."
