Son of Patrick, Binhall, Cairnie ; elected schoolmaster of Cairnie, 1742 (ibid.) ; 1 746, Apr. 30, the Minister of Cairnie reported that Alexander Gordon, 'who had been admitted schoolmaster in Cairnie, had left that place and joined in the rebellion, and craved that the school may be declared vacant'.
