General Notes: "He (Robert Bisset) was a staunch adherent of the Church of Rome, and suffered great persecution at the hands of the Covenanting Presbytery of Turriff. In the books of the Presbytery of Turriff it is recorded that he was excommunicated for refusing to attend the kirk and to sign the Solemn League and Covenant. Robert married 2nd Daughter GORDON, daughter of George GORDON 3rd of Coclarachie and Bessie DUNCAN.1 (2nd Daughter GORDON was born about 1594.) Marriage Notes: "6. Daughter (of George Gordon III of Coclarachie), who married Mr. Robert Bisset of Lessendrum, and had issue." |
