John married Daughter IRVINE, daughter of Reverend Mr Robert IRVINE Minister of Towie parish and Agnes MURRAY, by 15 March 1688(sasine).1 (Daughter IRVINE was born about 1670.)


  Marriage Notes:

"The 3rd laird of Law, also laird of Wardhouse and Kildrummie, was twice married. John Gordon, by his first wife, a daughter of Mr Robert Irvine, minister of Towie, who was evidently a man of considerable means, had a son Arthur, and a daughter Mary, who married James Gordon, VIIIth laird of Beldorney, probably about 1722. Mr Robert Irvine, minister at the Kirk of Towie, and Agnes Murray, his spouse, got sasine on old Morlich 15 March 1688."

John next married Mary BAIRD, daughter of William BAIRD of Auchmedden, Jacobite 1715 and Mary GORDON.1 2 (Mary BAIRD was born about 1695.)

"William Gordon, III. of Badenscoth .... married in 1724, Mary, daughter of William Baird of Auchmedden (by Mary, daughter of Robert Gordon of Straloch). She married (2) in 1738, Badenscoth's kinsman, John Gordon, III. of Law and of Wardhouse"
