"James Durham of Petkerro was the son of John Durham, burgess of Dundee, 1537. John Durham had a charter of the lands of Pitkerro in I534, and was succeeded by his eldest son, James, previous to 1589. The estate remained in the hands of the Durhams till near the end of the seventeenth century."
