DURHAM, James 2nd of Pitkerro 1 2 3User ID: F840. General Notes: "James Durham of Petkerro was the son of John Durham, burgess of Dundee, 1537. John Durham had a charter of the lands of Pitkerro in I534, and was succeeded by his eldest son, James, previous to 1589. The estate remained in the hands of the Durhams till near the end of the seventeenth century." James married Janet WISHART, daughter of Mr James WISHART 6th of Pitarrow, Justice Clerk and King's Advocate and Janet LYNDSAY.1 2 (Janet WISHART was born about 1512.) Marriage Notes: "He (James Durham) married Janet, daughter of Sir James Wishart of Pittarrow, by whom he had several sons and daughters. He died in the reign of James VI., and was succeeded by his eldest son, Alexander Durham of Pitkerro" |
