Upon his own resignation he got a charter under the Great Seal to Alexander Durham of Grange and Janet Erskine, his spouse, of the lands and mill of Grange, &c., in Forfarshire, dated 27th April, 1525. By his wife he had three sons - William, his heir ; John, ancestor of the Durhams of Pitkerro, Largo, Luffness, &c. ; and James, who was progenitor of the Durhams of Duntarvie, &c."
