"The lands thereof, situate on and near the river Deveron, were wadsetted and apprised from George, the 3rd laird of Beldorney in 1633 to one David Rickard, burgess of Aberdein, and Issobell Gordoun, his spouse, and a few years later passed into the hands of Lyon of Muresk.

A few years later the wadset of Beldorney seems to have been transferred to John Lyon of Muresk, son of Alexander Lyon of Muresk."
