Rebecca married Reverend Mr Thomas GORDON Minister of Dundurcas and Speymouth parishes, son of Reverend Mr Thomas GORDON Minister of Lonmay parish and Mary GORDON, on 26 October 1748.1 2 (Reverend Mr Thomas GORDON Minister of Dundurcas and Speymouth parishes was baptised on 24 January 1722 in Lonmay parish, Aberdeenshire, Scotland 4 5 and died on 18 July 1784 1.)

"Thomas Gordon, bom 1721, son Thomas G., min. of Lonmay; educated at King's College, Aberdeen; M.A. (27th March 1740); licen. by Presb. of Deer 18th June 1744; ord. to Dundurcas 15th Sept. 1747; pres. by James, Earl of Moray, 21st Feb., trans, and adm. 6th July 1758; died 18th July 1784. He was an eloquent and acceptable preacher. He marr. 26th Oct. 1748, Rebecca (died at Huntly 10th Feb. 1792), daugh. of Robert Gordon of Haughs, and had issue Mary, born 10th Dec. 1750 (marr. 9th Oct. 1768, William Bell, factor to the Duke of Gordon); Thomas of Whitburn, W.S., Edinburgh, and Sheriff-Substitute of Sutherland, born 14th June 1755, died 6th March 1845. Publications An Inquiry into the Powers of Ecclesiastics on the Principles of Scripture and Reason (London, 1776) [to which an Answer appeared (London, 1777)]; Plain Sermons on Practical Subjects [with some account of the author by James Beattie], 2 vols. (Edinburgh, 1786). Contributions on various subjects (under the signature of 'Urbanus';) to the Weekly Magazine, xviii., xxvii., xxxi., xxxii. [Moray Tests.;Sermons, i.; Tombst.]"

"Rev. Thomas Gordon, born January 24, 1722. He graduated at King's College, 1740, and was ordained to Dundurcus, Sept. 15, 1747. being transferred to Speymouth, June 13, 1758. He died July 18, 1784. He married Rebecca Gordon, daughter of Robert Gordon, elder son of Lewis Gordon, who was the second son of Sir Ludovick Gordon of Gordonstoun. She died at Huntly, Feb. 10, 1792."
