  Research Notes:

DATE OF DEATH

There are two entries for what seems to be this Elspet Grant at the Moray Council Local Heritage Services website http://libindx.moray.gov.uk/

One (http://libindx.moray.gov.uk/subjects/subject_people_report_view.asp?REF_ID=NM060098) notes her death, without linking her to her husband John or son Robert, as 1732, in accordance with the GRO Scotland's People website, https://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/ index of deaths and burials. Her place of death is cited as Mudhouse.

The other entry (http://libindx.moray.gov.uk/subjects/subject_people_report_view.asp?REF_ID=NM006911)notes Elspet Grant's year of death as 1734, and in this entry she is linked to John and Robert Anderson of Mudhouse.

In both entries, her age at death is cited as 50 years.and the month of death as October. The 1732 entry gives the date of death as 13 October 1732, whereas the 1734 entry gives the date of death as 7 October 1734.

Here in Patrick's People website, the two entries above are considered to refer to the same woman, and her death is noted, following the parish register, as having taken place in 1732. Her date of death was probably 7 October, and her date of burial 13 October.

Elizabeth married someone John ANDERSON younger, of Mudhouse, son of John ANDERSON elder, of Mudhouse and Elspet GRANT.1 (John ANDERSON younger, of Mudhouse was born about 1668,1 died on 3 July 1722 in Mudhouse, near Aberlour, Banffshire, Scotland 1 and was buried on 20 July 1722 in Aberlour cemetery, Banffshire, Scotland 6.)
