"Gordon, Alexander, of Letterfourie
Farmer, Pattenbringan, Banff. Fourth son of James Gordon of Letterfourie and the daughter of Sir William Dunbar of Durn. Some time after the Rising he joined his brother James in Madeira. He married, in 1778, Helen, daughter of Alexander Russell of Montcoffer, by whom he had three sons, James, Alexander and Charles Edward. He died 16 January 1797, aged 82"
