John married Jean STEWART, daughter of John STEWART 3rd Earl of Atholl and Grizel RATTRAY, by 3 September 1543 (conjunct charter). (Jean STEWART was born about 1528.)

  Marriage Notes:

"He (John Otterburn) m. Jean, daughter of John Stewart, 3rd Earl of Atholl, (she survived him and m. secondly, by September of 1569, to George Crawford of Leffnoris), with whom she had a conjunct charter for the lands of Redheughs on 3 September 1543, then another for those of Redhall with the turret, manor, houses etc, dated 26 January 1549."
