"Agnes married, before 1384, Sir Gilbert Kennedy of Dunure. Their eldest son was Sir James Kennedy of Dunure, who married in 1405 the Princess Mary, daughter of King Robert III., relict of George first Earl of Angus. Their third son was James Kennedy, the distinguished Bishop of St. Andrews in 1440. The eldest son of Sir James Kennedy, and the Princess Mary, was created Lord Kennedy, and was ancestor of the Marquis of Ailsa."
