'Discharge by James Wishart of Pitarrow to David Arbuthnot of that Ilk, of the sum of 90 Merks, being the tocher of Marjory Falconer, daughter of David Falconer of Halkerton and wife of John Wishart, son and apparent heir of the said James Wishart of Pitarrow, and which sum the said David of Arbuthnot had become bound to pay to the said James Wishart of Pitarrow - Pitarrow 7th Novemb 1460' "

John next married Janet LINDSAY 'of Edzell'.2 3 (Janet LINDSAY 'of Edzell' was born about 1450 and died after 1 July 1507 3.)


  Marriage Notes:

"John Wischeard, of Pittarrow (17) did homage on the 25th February, 1492, to Robert Leighton, Abbot of Arbroath, for his lands of Reidhall and others. In June, 1493, he is mentioned, in a decreet of the Lords of Council. In the Exchequer Rolls, 1492, there is a sasine to John Wischeard, of the lands of Pittarrow, in Kincardineshire and also of the lands of Bawgillo, in Forfarshire (vol. 10, p766). In the Register of the Great Seal, June 29th, 1499, the lands of Balgillo are forfeited by John Wischeard of Pittarrow, for remaining from the army, and also on July 1st, 1507, there is a charter to John Wischeard of Pittarrow, and Jonet Lindsay his spouse (18), of the two Wodtowns in Kincardineshire, in satisfaction for his loss of Balgillo. By his wife, Janet Lyndsay, of Edzell (18), he had three sons, James (21) John (24) and William (26)."
