Isabella married Sir David of Strathbogie, 8th Earl of Atholl, son of John of Strathbogie, Earl of Atholl, jure uxoris and Ada HASTINGS Countess of Atholl, suo jure.1 (Sir David of Strathbogie, 8th Earl of Atholl was born about 1240 and died on 6 August 1270 in Carthage, Tunisia, Africa 1.)

  Marriage Notes:

"David, Earl of Atholl, who styles himself David of Strathbogie, Earl of Atholl, in a charter by him to the monks of Cupar, the date of which is uncertain, but probably after 1260. He was certainly Earl before Christmas 1264, when he was made a knight by King Alexander III., and in 1269 he quarelled with John Comyn, who had begun a castle at Blair to the Earl's prejudice. The matter was settled by King Alexander and his Council. These are almost the only notices of him, in Scottish record, as he married as his second wife, an English heiress, Isabella, one of the heirs of Richard de Chilham of Chilham, in Kent, and Roesia of Dover. This marriage took place some time before June 1266, and the Earl seems to have resided chiefly in England, but even in English records there are few references to him and these chiefly as to feudal casualties on his lands."

Isabella next married Sir Alexander BALLIOL of Cavers, Chamberlain of Scotland, son of Henry BALLIOL 'of Cavers', Chamberlain of Scotland and Lora DE VALOGNES.1 2 (Sir Alexander BALLIOL of Cavers, Chamberlain of Scotland was born about 1235 and died by 1311 4.)

  Marriage Notes:

"By his (David of Strathbogie's) second wife, Isabella Chilham, who survived him and married Alexander Baliol of Cavers, dying in 1291 or 1292, he had issue one son, IX. John, Earl of Atholl ..."
