Robert Nizbet son to James Nizbet and Isabel Rutherford his spouse was born apon the ninteenth [sic] day of August Jmvij; and sixty three, and was baptized at Innerleithen upon the twentieth and second day of said month of August by Mr Kidstown Minister of the Associate Congregation at Stow. The above James Nizbet Merchant at Innerleithen."
NOTE: This record is set on a page amid baptisms for the year1767, by the Minister of the Gospel at Innerleithen.

When Robert's son, Thomas, died in February 1857, his death certificate recorded his father as 'Robert Nisbet labourer'.

When his son, Robert, died in July 1857, Robert Nisbett was recorded in his death certificate as a 'ploughman deceased'. 2 3 4
