"William, fifth Earl of Erroll, was served heir to his father 20 October 1513, was sent as a commissioner to France 1515, and to England 1516. He died at Edinburgh 28 July 1522, and was buried at Coupar. He married Elizabeth, youngest daughter of William, first Lord Ruthven, who survived him, and married, secondly, Ninian, second Lord Ross of Halkhead. He had issue : 1. William, sixth Earl."
