Jane married Sir John HAMILTON of Fingalton, son of Sir David FitzWalter HAMILTON 2nd of Cadzow and Daughter ROSS. (Sir John HAMILTON of Fingalton was born about 1340 and died on 14 September 1402 in Battle of Homildon Hill, Northumberland, England.)

  Marriage Notes:

"Sir John Hamilton of Fingalton, second son of David Fitz Walter (No. 3). There is a precept of sasine by John of Hamilton, Lord of Cadzow, to his uncle, Sir John of Hamilton, Lord of Fingalton, 21st May 1395 {Hamilton MSS.). He was present, and was probably killed, at the battle of Homildon, 14th September 1402. He is said to have married, first, Jane, daughter and heiress of Sir James Lyddell of Preston ; and, second, Anna, daughter of Sir William Seton of that Ilk. He had two sons : -

(a) Sir James (No. 514).

(b) John Hamilton, founder of the family of Ellershaw, now extinct."
